Think about it, fashion IS making you similar to everyone else anyway. People will fight uniforms saying it takes away their individuality, but then they run to their fashion magazines to follow the styles religiously.
"I'm individual, just like everyone else!" ;)

If wearing a uniform spoils your identity, individuality, or personality; then you had very little to none to start with. Personality, individuality, and identity are something only you can bring, and are not a product of your clothing. The wearing of a uniform makes you uniform, so that you appear as part of a group and you are easily identifiable.
How many times have you went into a chain restaurant and each waiter/waitress you had was completely different. They all wear uniforms, but they are still individuals. Some are nice and some are not, and you can still see they are different even though they are in uniform. The same goes for police officers, some are more lenient than others even though they wear the same uniform. I think you are more concerned with personal style than individuality. Personal style you can keep, you just have to keep it within the guidelines. All of us here were born wearing the same thing, to mothers who probably wore the same unattractive hospital gown; yet we are all very different.

Uniforms create a visual effect of continuity and recognition for the organization for which the uniforms are worn. It is also possible that an individual wearing a uniform may feel a sense of unity with other members of the organization. Perhaps it is possible to wear some small accessories, such as tasteful personal jewelry, to retain some individuality.

I also went to a private school that required us to wear uniforms. Even though we looked similar, people found ways to make their look unique and specific to their own style. Some days I miss having a uniform to just through on without thought or ironing! I think who you are as a person comes through in many different ways, not just clothing.

uniforms actually bring outyour identity if anything because, in spite of wearing the exact same thing as everyone else, you might find ways to still look different by mixing your persinal style with the uniform.

Tough question...but you can think about it this way. There's an old saying that people are best in the worst situations. So if you're stuck in a nasty uniform, you can modify it to make it your own. Simple!
But I do believe in uniforms...less bullying. :-)

I think it is for sure your personality whether you like to admit it or not,,,And a uniform brings out the best in you and you are one of the best or you would not be part of the military or etc etc.

Our identity is not in the clothes we wear. If it is then you are a follower anyway. Be yourself, not what you wear.
