All these magazines are going on about how 'curvy' is better than skinny. But I just don't get it...how does that make skinny girls like me feel? It's not fair...

Probably the same way that it makes over weight girls feel when the say Skinny is in. I don't agree with a statement like that at all. I think that if you are happy and healthy that it shouldn't matter what is in... If you are happy... then don't worry about it you are your own beautiful self

Well, I feel your pain girl. :)
I was very skinny all my life and got teased at school a lot. Than I decided to change that. I went to the fitness center and talk to the personal fitness trainer. He developed a weight gaining programe for me and in about 3-4 months I looked and feel my better.

If you have naturally fast methabolism, like I do, it can be the reason why you don't gain weight and it's a good thing. :)
Be positive. Look at it this way: how many people around you will have "curves" and after 30 or the first baby they all gain a lot of weight. These people must work hard to maintain they weight and for you it would be much easier and healthier to stay skinny.

I would go to the gym and gain a little bit of muscle though. I don't know your weight, hight and % of your body fat to help you with a program but I bet you will feel more confident just to know that you have a firm butt and thighs and your shoulders are much stronger than those "curvey" girls have. :)

Email me if you need any help. Good luck.

Oh don't complain, you can fit into just about anything and pull off most styles =P
The "curvy" force hasn't really taken the world by force yet...sure, the magazines are selling it, but that's so they stay popular with readers. If they continued with the "skinny girls only!" trend they would lose a lot of fans and respect.
Take a look at the fashion industry...you seeing many curvy girls there yet? 'Cause I'm not. Fashion designers will ALWAYS prefer skinny girls. =\

It's not so much that the girls are skinny, but that they are skinny to a point where it's unhealthy. If you are slim and at a healthy weight but don't have curves, this means you have a more athletic shape, a straight up and down look. There's nothing wrong with this. But the modeling world is trying to break free of the stick thin, oh my goodness she's going to break in half if the wind blows look.

And I agree with the other posters about the thin ones having their reign for so long...Curves should be back in style, because most women have them.

Whatever. There are tons of curvy girls out there that would LOVE to be skinny like us. Get over it, the magazines are just trying to give these girls a little self confidence so they don't end up anorexic.

As someone else said...stop reading those magazines! Most pictures are air brushed and not real. And articles are just someone's opinion...made to think it is the truth.
I don't know how old/young you are......but as time goes by, you will find that very little in life is fair. It's the way you learn to deal with them is the answer. It seems that no one is happy with the way they look...for whatever reason. You have to learn to love yourself.....and be happy with who you are. As long as you are healthy...don't worry about other people and what they think.

There is beauty in all shapes but what they are trying to get across is not strave yourself and to be healthy as skinny has been in a long time and the average person cannot be that way so they feel depressed If you are healthy and skinny fine but if other wise BAD?

Stop reading the magazines! Those things thrive by making you feel like your not good enough and convincing you their articles can help. Put the magazine down and walk away.

I say skinny girls have had their day long enough, Us "curvy" girls have felt bad about ourselves since the 60's it is now our turn to be felt like we're appreciated. No offense but over four decades is long enough to be ridiculed.

I know, it seems nothing is ever fair. It's time all body shapes were celebrated, then no-one would feel bad. HTH : )
