I love scary novels. Stephen King and Koontz have some good stuff but some excellent books by other authors you might want to try out are:

The Keep - Paul Wilson
Who Made Stevie Crye - Michael Bishop
The Damnation Game - Clive Barker
-anything by HP LoveCraft

John Saul has several good, scary novels. He writes psychological thrillers. The Right Hand of Evil is the only title I can recall at the moment, but I've read most of them up to and including Blackwood Farm.

"House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski is terrifying! A interesting, thought provoking read that spooks you in a non-traditional way. Look it up on amazon and read about it. SCARY!
