My wife has informed me that she wishes to have an 'extra-marital affair' with a friend. They plan to go away next weekend to 'fully consummate their blossoming passions'. I find this a bit off. Especially since the man she intends to 'give herself to with the fire of her womanhood', is a jerk. Should I just tell her that I think it's unreasonable?

Unreasonable? It's over is a better comment. It's one thing to play you and cheat behind your back. But to rub it in your face is down right skank.

Don't be played for a mouse dude. This is a job for a husband and a man to tell his wife, we go to a marriage counselor or get out of my house!

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/yxS7o

I don't know about you but to me marriage is between 2 people who have made a commitment to each other. If you are willing to have an open relationship that's up to you.....I don't get it myself. It sounds like the only thing that bothers you is that the guy is a jerk. If you liked the guy it would be ok with you? That's between you and the wife. I personally have never seen anything good come from a relationship like this but that isn't my business. I wish you well.

Uh yeah she is your wife. Tell her how you feel about the guy and the fact that she is having an affair. Does this mean the marriage is over? What is the point of being married if she is in another man's arms. I think you should change the locks while she is gone.

Yes...it is unreasonable. (doesn't matter that the guy is a jerk). You are married..why is she "consummating" with anyone other than you.

Why would you not tell her that this is unreasonable? She seems to have no problem telling you what she thinks.

So she's telling you she's going to have an affair and is expecting you to be ok with this? Is she on this planet? Did she take her marriage vows seriously? i would have serious words with her if you are not approving cos its not just unreasonable its a marriage wrecker in the making!

Take her to task and say its just not on, and if she still continues to do it divorce her for adultery and take her for all she has! She obviously has little respect for you or your marriage if she continues to behave like this!

Well if you dont care that your wife would be with another man than sure let her go, But if you really love your wife then HECK NO why would you even be debateing this. If your wife wants to cheat on you then you need to tell her to pack all her things and to stay with this friend. At least she is telling you what she wants so let that woman go.

And your letting her go??????? change the door locks and anything else you can so she cant get back in. Unless of course you want this!!!! Also if you are from UK there is such a thing as a Class F land charge where she cant come onto the property. I used this once, dont really know if it still exists.

Absolutely. How disrespectful to you. If she doesn't want to be married to one man, she shouldn't be married, If she feels she needs another she is saying obviously you aren't enough or you aren't the one. Go away with him??? If I said this crap to my husband, he'd send me packing. Unreasonable- if you ask me, she has some nerve. She is treating you like a chump. I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but stand up for yourself. What kind of a person is she anyway.
