Today when I went to take a shower I turned the know on and nothing happend. However when I turned it the other way (towards cold/off) the water came on. The knob turns a little both ways with the middle being off now. It does not turn enough either way to get the hot water to turn on or have a full stream. Everything was fine yesterday and no one else uses this shower. This shower knob is a single knob - Turn all the way to the right for off and turn left to turn it on and more left to add hot water. I did not have time to take it apart before I had to leave this a.m. Anyone know what the problem could be? Maybe it just got out of alignment or something?

if you take the handle off the unit there is a limiter on it that limiter is a scald gaurd you can take this item off and toss it in the garbage if you don't have children.if that dosent work then you have build up in the hot side of the line shut off the water drain down the system take the crome slip cover off. then you will see a smooth brass nut about 1-1/2 to 2 inches in diamiter remove this nut. you should now see the guts of the valve tug this out [you will tug preaty hard ] then clean the guts if this is the problem there will be buildup that is noticable on the valve. turn the watter on for [one second] and only that long to clear the line. then put back togher that should do it.
