@ 8 mos a baby still gets all of the nutrition she needs from formula or breastmilk. so i wouldn't worry about it too much right now. some babies are just picky eaters or maybe this is a control thing for her. maybe she does not like what u are feeding her. i would just continue to offer her food without being forcefull about it.
did u try giving her finger foods like cheerios, she might like being able to pick it up and eat it herself.

They really have you brainwashed don't they?
Baby's don't need any solids until they are over a year. And that crap your feeding your baby from the jar is so heavily processed that it's worthless as far a nutritian is concerned.
Try mashing a banana up, or blanch a peach and mash it and see if she'll eat that? Maybe she's trying to tell you something.
And by the way, no child that was served healthy food has ever starved to death. Eventually the child will become hungry enough that they will eat. They are running on instinct in that regard.
They also don't develope food discrimination right away... Maybe the food doesn't taste good to her. Maybe she's just lazy
If you're breast feeding, don't trouble yourself over it.
If you're giving her formula, not only do I feel sorry for her due to the damage it does to a childs future health, but you may want to make sure she's getting her vitamins and try giving her homemade food.
It's really easy to do. Leave raw any fruits or veggies that are soft, lightly cook any that are hard, run through blender, pour into ice cube tray, freeze, and place in labled zip locs until needed. Use rice cereal to thicken, and don't give the baby meat until they are over a year old. They don't need it and it stops them from eating veggies. You don't want that due to the fact that the fiber in fruits and veggies strengthen their digestive system.
And if you really want to do her good, make brown rice porrige instead of that powdered garbage. it is so mineral rich that you can live off of it for 2 years before any health issues will develope. Also, since it is rich in fiber too, it won't constipate like white rice does.
And the proccessing plants that the food is made in are disgusting.
I had four kids, and never opened a jar of baby food.
My kids have no allergies or health issues. But then, I breast fed them all too...
As far as behavior is concerned... Sounds to me like she has learned that she can get a response from you by doing certain things. Don't let her make the decisions. Be firm and make her sit in her chair. She will learn quickly that you are the boss, and she will eat when she's hungry enough.
Don't fall for the hype. And don't panic over it.
good luck

babies from time to time as the progress will go on little spurts without having cravings like they once did. The food no longer hits that taste bud and so they do what they think is right by not eating the vass amounts they used to. The things i found to help the most with my son is to go beyond the lable, and move up to more advanced foods (NOT SWEETS AND OR CHOKING HAZARDS OBVIOUSLY) if he was on stage 2 I'd move to 3, If he was on 3 Id move to what ever may be next. and i t worked/works my babyboys so healty. and active, just give it a shot and good luck...

It could be just a phase, or she could be ready for table food. My littlest, he's 13 months now, was *never* interested in baby food. We started just like you rice cerals about 4-5 months and moved into jarred foods, but he would never eat it. His Dr told me to start giving him what we eat, keeping away the high allergy foods and making sure things were cut up enough for him to not choke. He was about 6 months old at that point and that was just what he wanted.

Having the same problem with my 9 month old grandson. Some days he will eat, next day he's just not interested. His mother, my daughter, was just the same. She survived and so will your little one. Children do not voluntarily starve themselves and even if they look like biafran refugees, if they are healthy and happy otherwise, play and sleep well, then don't stress it. They will go through these stages. Think about your own eating habits, some days you're not that hungry either.

try giving her some soild foods, she might just not ike baby food anymore. i wouldnt eat that stuff either. but also remember she will eat when she is hungry. dont try to force them to eat or it will be a difficult road ahead. if she is a healthy weight and a happy baby she is probably fine. but if you are still worried ask her doctor.

make sure she is not sick, maybe ears or throat, but sounds like she has you fooled... and maybe just being picky... she will eat when she is hungry, don't force it...
some of it maybe what you are feeding her?.. did you change the type?... some kids don't like different textures.... all kids are different, don't go by where the "books" say she should be... go with your gut, you are the mom, and know what is up, best of luck!
