It sounds like a yeast infection (if it has a fishy smell). This happens when the bacteria in your vagina gets lessened by some change--changes can include stress, hormonal fluctuations, using antibiotics.
As for the exam, honeslty, don't worry about it. I know they are scary, I was freaked out before my first. But the best thing you can do is ask the doctor to use the smallest speculum, they're called virginal speculums. The insertion feel odd, but it's not painful. I honestly think it hurts less than a tampon. And the doctor will be in and out of there in seconds, it's not a drawn out procedure that lasts a half hour. She/he will insert the speculum, take a quick look to see the irritation, and swab it to do a culture.
Again, such an exam may not be necessary. The doc may be able to diagnose you purely on the description of your symptoms.

You're going to have to be examined, because it sounds like you may have Bacterial Vaginosis, and it will need to be treated with an anti-biotic. You can go to the drug store, in the feminine hygiene section and buy this thing that looks like a maxi pad ( I can't remember what it's called) but what it is, is a way to test and see if you have a yeast infection....you've got to read the box, it will tell you what it does and how to do it. If it comes back positive, you can then buy something like monistat7 to treat it. If it comes back negative, then you've got something else and you'll need to see a doctor. Good luck.
P.S. Rite-Aid, carries the test I'm talking about, and you'll find it near Yeast infection supplies.

You have a bacterial infecton down south. And you have to get it treated or it can lead to much worse conditions. Your 14 now honey its okay to tell your mom about these things. You'll realize she is alot cooler then you thought. They have nothing to do with sex believe it or not. You can get them when you are sexually active or not. You can get them jsut because your homones were off balance. Also check out the discharge is it just smelly but looks normal or is it white and chunky? if it is white and chunky you may have a yeast infection but the only way to tell is have the doctors do a pap. IF you are worried about that . .don't they are really not bad us women hate them but they are over in 1 minute litterally. And you should have started your first one about a year after you started your period for your own good. If you are worried about them I will give you some sights that might calm you a little bit and will give you some more info on your problem. But you are normal and we all get them and YES HONEY WE HAVE ALL HAD TO TELL OUR MOMS and in my case my mom wasn't around so my dad was who i had to talk to about stuff like that! its really weird when it happens the first time and you are stuck on the toilet screaming for your father to go to the store! yeah he looked like he was going to pass out but what dad wouldn't! his little girl was growing up! but she's expecting this maybe dreading the thought you are growning up but she will be cool. Dont worry! good luck

Don't be worried to tell your mother, being examined is very scary. It may be something simple like a yeast infection that she can help you with. Every female gets at least one sometime in there life. But you really do need to let her know, that's what's she there for; to take care of you. Good luck!

You might have a yeast infection. Don't be afraid to tell mum as mum has been there before in her lifetime too. You need to get it taken care of as if left untreated it could possibly do some damage. Virgin or not, take care of yourself!

You probably have a yeast infection.
Go to your local drug store and get a treatment kit for $10.
Do exactly what the instructions say and you will be fine.
P.S. I advize you to tell your mom about things like that anyway. She is a woman and she knows.
She has gone through the same many times Im sure.

Your probably have either a yeast infection or a bactirial infection. You can get both being a virgin but both need medication to get better. You can either tell your mom and have her take you to the Dr or call Planned Parenthood in your area and you can go see them and they keep in confidentail. Either way, you need to be examined.

honey, you have an infection. you need to go to a doctor. maybe your mom can find you a female doctor. this type of infection is most likely what they call a yeast infection. it is caused by a bacterial imbalance in your system. that means, it is not your fault you have this. it comes from many things, one is nylon or synthetic clothing like underwear, wearing a wet bathing suit for too long, comes from antibiotics--they cause all bacteria in your body to be killed, good and bad, it could come from something you ate, maybe way too much sugar...lots of things...
tell your mom..it wont get better on it's own..
good luck

If it sort of looks like cottage cheese, then it's just a yeast infection. Every woman gets those at some point in time and it can be caused by what you are wearing or what you're eating. has nothing to do with any sexual actvity.

it could be a few things like a bactieral infection , yeast infection, trichomoniasis (look it up if you dont know what it is) or it could just be a forgotten/lost tampon ... but i would deffinatly tell your mom cause if its something that needs to be treated with meds it will just get worse without treatment
