When I was in middle school, there was this elementary school student that would always harass me. He would call me "fag" and "queer" all the time. this really damaged my self esteem cause he would do it repeatedly. His mother was over my house the other night, he is now in middle school and is being harassed about his weight by other students and it's bringing down his self-esteem. Should i being laughing at this because the kid got what he deserved or pity him?

People who feel bad about themselves usually are the one's who bully in this way. My guess is that his "self esteem" has been bad all along especially since he apparently has parents who don't care enough about him to not allow him to become so overweight that he is the subject of ridicule.

However to laugh at another person's misery, even when they deserve it, is bad karma, so just ignore it. What goes around, comes around. Leave it at that.

Remember, just because you discovered the fact in that order, doesn't mean that is the order they happened in. He may have been being picked on for being overweight first, which brought down his self-esteem, and that is what led him to pick on you to make himself feel better.

Yeah, there is something to be said for poetic justice. But we are discussing kid stuff, and the fact is kids are cruel without knowing it. Be the better person, chalk it up to experience, and just move on. Technically speaking you don't have to feel joy or pity for him if hes not a part of your life anymore.

have a good private laugh... then pity him... he probably had bad self esteem to begin with and nows its worse...... though it is fun to see a bully get some of their own medicine huh?
I hope you are a stronger person after what you went through. he probably wont be.

Even though it might sound odd, why don't you stick up for him? Karma works both ways, you know. You know from experience that it's wrong to treat others badly because they're different, now go out and practice that! Good luck!

What goes around comes around. Don't laugh or there will be more people laughing at you.
Now maybe he'll understand both sides of the coin :)

I'd do both. He did get what he deserves, and I pity him for what has become of his life because of his actions

If he's no longer in your life, do what you will. If you still have to deal with him, I'd say the answer depends a good deal on him.

Don't laugh at him, take the lesson that you are seeing to heart. Karma does work.
