God wants no one to go to Hell...or the place of everlasting torment, that is a choice you have to make for yourself. God sent Jesus Christ here on earth for many reasons, but one of the main reasons was for us never to have to try and live up to the Leverite Law which is impossible to do...by having Jesus as your savior, you are under the law of LOVE and GRACE. But YOU have to make that decision. Do you live under the law or under grace? To avoid "Hell" all you need to do is acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord of your life. Can anyone or anything else offer you a deal like that?

I can neither confirm or deny whether or not I believe in hell. That said, a lot of religions and religious people do not believe in hell. So maybe there is a God, but there isn't a hell. Then problem solved! What you are referring to is a traditional Christian point-of-view, and you are mistaken in your interpretation of it. The traditional Christian view of hell is NOT that ALL of us get sent there. Only the bad people do. Traditional Christians also believe in heaven, and the basis of hell is pretty simple. Heaven wouldn't be heaven if you had to hang out with Saddam Hussein, Ted Bundy, or Adolph Hitler.

LOL @ the flamer for saying hell is a man made concept.

Hell is real and it's YOUR choice to go there. Only people that love him get to go to Heaven, why would anyone want people who hate him or don't believe in him to last forever in his kingdom?

He proves time and time again that he exists yet some people are so ignorant to believe it. Those people go to hell for not believing.

God doesn't put you in hell, YOU do.

A mercifull, just god would not have a Hell, in my opinion. Purgatory maybe, but all sins are limited in nature, so how is it just to send someone to hell forever? Even Hitler's sins were limited, he would have to spend millions of years in hell to be properly punished, but not eternity. If he received a life sentence for every death, he'd be in hell for like 80,000,000yrs I think.

David, the question is, why would people made by such a loving God choose to do evil? Why would intelligent people turn their back on his teachings which are wise and lead one to love and enlightened wisdom and grace. Why would they refuse Him after being so greatly gifted with a soul, a mind and a heart?
Hell is the absence of God, and this is what they are choosing.

Secondly, some people believe that an eternal hell is not a fitting punishment for sin. To corrupt the soul is to take a most beautiful and intricate dwelling and destroy its immeasurable value with decay and rot. Once done and destroyed, is of now no value to God. Jesus said: I am the vine and you are the branches. Whoever remains in me shall have eternal life. Whoever does not remain in me will whither and will finally be tossed into the fire (meaning death in the soul.) At the same time He also says in the Psalms through the Prophet King David: The Lord is my shepherd. ...He annointeth my head wth oil, He restoreth my soul. St. Paul says to "Put on the mind of Christ," putting off all that is evil that you might be saved.

First Letter of St. Peter
Chapter 4

1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same attitude (for whoever suffers in the flesh has broken with sin),

2 so as not to spend what remains of one's life in the flesh on human desires, but on the will of God.

3 For the time that has passed is sufficient for doing what the Gentiles like to do: living in debauchery, evil desires, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and wanton idolatry.

4They are surprised that you do not plunge into the same swamp of profligacy, and they vilify you;

5 but they will give an account to him who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.

6 For this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead that, though condemned in the flesh in human estimation, they might live in the spirit in the estimation of God.

7 The end of all things is at hand. Therefore, be serious and sober for prayers.

8 Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins.

9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining.

10 As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.

11 Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

There is actually no record at all in the Bible of there being a hell. The concept of hell was invented by the clergy in the 3rd century. The Bible merely says that when we die, we are asleep. There is no hell, it is merely a fabrication invented by men.

Because the idea of god's wrath is a mad made concept...and men are inherantly evil and expect punishment for wrongdoers.
