The strangest thing that I've ever eaten was octopus at a Japanese restuarant. My friend ordered it so I tried it. I didn't really care too much for it.
I've never eaten this but to me this would be one of the grossest things for anyone to eat. It's called Cuitlacoche. Basically it's a black fungus that infects kernels of corn and people in Mexico consider it a delicacy. Someone must have been very hungry to want to eat this.

While travelling in Taiwan I was able to partake in a dinner of fried bees, fried crickets, rat meat, and small birds that are cooked in their entirety (heads, feet) and was encouraged to eat as much of them as I could. Chicken feet were a particular delicacy. While not strange from their perspective, these foods were highly unusual to my western palate.
Of course my favourite things are fried shrimp heads and Monkfish liver (ankimo) which I get at sushi restaurants. And for even more interesting sushi items check out the terminology list at:

i'm contained in the southernmost area of Texas, contained sooner or later, and fried scorpions are offered right here from street vendors. (in no way tried one yet) Strangest component i have eaten is deep fat fried rat. Down right here. In Texas. It does not flavor like fowl. I fasted for days after that. in no way lower back. Ugh.
