I wanna be a dancer and im going to a performing art school in ny this year.people have told me tht ill never make it, i dont believe them how cani tell them to sHUT UP without being too rude

Prove them wrong. After all, actions say more than words. You're doing this for YOU and unless you put all of your effort into your success you won't get far. Try to ignore them. Once you feel that you have improved or accomplished some new steps, show them. Then, ask them to try. If they do, chances are, they won't do it perfectly. Then giggle a little if they try and remind them it's not so easy. That might prove to them that you can put your heart on something and not give up. Dancing is a hard career to achieve in but go as far as you can with it. Don't stop if things get rough, keep trying. Reach for the moon, if you fall you might catch a star.

Good for you for following your dream and great question! You have the right idea about ignoring advice that you don't like and expecially unsolicited advice you don't need or like. The key is you don't have to be defensive. Thank the person and let them know you will note their opinion and give them a call from the big time to see how they are doing. Then also give them a big smile.

the proof is in the pudding. Get into the school and do your best then invite all the non believers to your recital that will put them in thier place.

Say that that's what they've said to every person who has ever made it and just try your hardest, and we'll all be watching you as giselle, and or in that rap video... depending on what style it is you're doing :P

You should just ignore them because nobody could ever predict your future plus if you listen to them youll start to think that you cant make it and i know from personal experience.
