Not to be snide, but you're confusing iconic relics with factual evidence.

Its similar to taking any version of the Bible at face value, rather than seeing it as a metaphor for teaching morality. I argue this all the time, but the Bible is not historical record, since its writing and translation throughout history has been done by those with less than savory designs. For example, a large portion of the Bible was concocted during the Dark Ages of Europe as a means to ensure serfs were afraid to leave their lord's land.

Anyways, I won't say that you're wrong exactly, who of us knows the be all, end all of possibility. But to say that the evidence for a physical journey thousands of years ago to a spiritual plane of existence to witness a bunch of symbols is a hanging rock, well just smacks of ignorance, or at least naivete. The event you describe IS a myth, and the historical evidence you claim is no more real or factual than that which exists to prove that Moses parted the Red Sea as shown in the Charlton Heston film.

Who says there is no heaven? Not until we know all there is on our planet, salor system and conquer the universe, we wont even get to the first heavens!
