Does anyone know what happened to CNN's Miles O'Brien?

CNN's morning anchor, Miles O'Brien is absent again and has been for a month or so. This also happened a couple of times late last year. Does anyone know the explanation for these extended absences by Mr. O'Brien?

I see him doing more investigative reports, as a loner. Maybe it is a promotion?
