One of the most effective ways of overcoming stress is to take up gardening. Get the family involved. The kids love to tend their own patch of earth and watch plants grow. Make a plan and start a timetable of jobs. Not too strenuous mind, but enough that every month a project is finished and you can celebrate success.
With hotter summers coming perhaps a Mediterranean garden would work. If you have no garden then try an allotment and grow veggies. Build a small garden pond with a fountain. Watch the wildlife gather in your garden. You will be amazed at the health benefits you gain. Good Luck!

I will invite friends or family members over and enjoy some adult company. Usually alcoholic drinks do help unwind and relax! Oh, and the company can also serve as good babysitters too!

Take them to the park and pretend to be an over grown squirell, its good to have kids as that gives you the excuse to escape from every day life and pretend to be something else, if you don't want to be a squirell, try being a pirate or a spagetti monster...

The only downside is that you need decent weather ideally, but you could always take them swimming, and invite your babysitter along too as a free day out, that way you get to have a paddle, and have someone there to watch the kids.

Organise a babysitting rota with your friends who also have kids so that you can go outside the house once in a while, feel the wind in your hair and remember a time when you did not have kids to worry about!!

if you have a partner, then let him look after the kids , run yourself a bath, put some lavender oil, or bubble bath in , lock the door , slide in relax, for up to 30 mins. if you dont have anyone to look after the kids, then get them to bed early, do the same thing, then go straight to bed, you will sleep very well, wake up feeling refreshed.

I'm generally happier and more relaxed if I can de-stress through sex. If you've got kids around, I guess there are a few more logistics to consider. It depends on whether you have someone who you can rely on when you need a break.

After I'd put them down to bed (early if i can) then i draw a nice relaxing bath with whatever I want in it. Maybe play some low music. Whatever you like to do with your free time.
