I reject having a Muslim in congress. Especial because that puke is from my state. Islamic fanaticals are the cause of almost all the wars, killing and unrest. This is a fact. It would be like in 1939, electing a peace loving Nazi to congress. It just doesn't make any sense. I have no problem with a Hindu or a Buddhist or any other religion swearing on what ever even if it were tree bark, just not a Muslim.

As I understand it, there is no constitutional mandate to require a person being sworn in to use a Bible. I see no difficulty with a Koran. I thought is was interesting that Thomas Jefferson's' Koran was used. It is probably more important what the congressman does for his district than what book he prefers to use in ceremonies.

I would rather he swear on something he believes in, so if thats the koran then so be it.

virgil goode and some of the assorted yahoo cons were the only ones upset. it is not an issue for real americans. one democrat was sworn in with the constitution. it got little coverage.

Truthfully, I wouldn't care if he took his oath of office with his hand on a MAD Magazine. It's the oath that matters.
