Any act of crime is terrorism. The police are here to fight that type of terrorism. If the military were to be called out against there own country that woul d create a conflict within our own country. The military is for helping protect an defend our people. The police and justice system is established to fight terrorism within . Our soliers do drivebys on terrorists, We need to recruit the gangsters. They make good soldiers and get them off the streets. They could do a driveby legally and be serving their country at the same time. Good question.

Your right, in many ways our government ignores the underlying problems here at home. It's easy for them to say that other people are the problem or causing the problem, it's harder to admit that you may have an even larger problem with the citizens that make up your country. We have a very large death rate, and a sickening amount of our death has to do with murder. I guess in all reality our government strives to "protect us" from outside terrorists, when it's the terror here at home that is tormenting us and killing more of our family members everyday. But remember that no matter what, each country has their own problems, and no matter what there will always be murderers, rapists and abusers in this world. It's not just our government ignoring it, it's a world wide issue, and something that may be far beyond the control of just a government.

Of course it is different... first of all, terrorism techniques is to terror innocent people to put pressure on free governments by their own people and to sabotage its economy and struggle business and create a scaring society. basically a mess. so terrorist is not like a typical murderer, terrorist wanna do worst nightmare as possible. while murderer might kill because as you said jealus ex-husband or robber, police can stop them easier than stopng terrorist. terrorists based their ideas on religion and organizations, therefore it is much a big threat, they have intelligence, they have plans and funds. different from murderer.
now, you are ironic in your assessing . for instance you are like saying let's forget there is war and forget any possible positive effect and let's look at what terrorists did so far, it is very few. well of course, because you ignored that it is possibly and probably the defense and war on terror and other plans to stop terrorism worked and protected you and made your country safer. if you let enemies take over other lands and preparing to hit you, and you stay silent, you will be called idiot, no offense. remember what England and europeans did when hitler grew and started invading other countries? they did not do anything, they stayed their and tried to solve it deplomacy, until their countries became at stake of existance and could've been vanished because of their lack of action against that threat.
don't think that islamic terror is not a big danger, it is a big danger, ask french, swedish about what are the no-go towns.

Oh, you must be new. Well, let me try to put this delicately. Our president has always lied to us. This war is about oil and nothing more than that. Wait until Bush leaves the whitehouse and check out his assets then. You will either be surprised and shocked, or you might just as well have suspected it all along. Terrorists have hated america for years now. Bush is just trying to use that term on the americans who are fairly "new" to the political game. I hope you learn all you can about our world. It really is corrupt and full of deception. Or you could save yourself the time and trouble by just reading the bible. Good luck.

Take out the word terrorism because its an emotional word and look at whats really happening. It is really "Mass Murder." This is really a battle between people who think very differently from one another. Western culture believes in freedom and have structured societies based on laws and law abiding people. If injustice or murder occurs, there are laws to help protect society. In Muslim countries where most of the mass murderers are harbored, the societies are not free, there is strong religious fanaticism and hatred of western culture because they are non-believers in Islam, or "infidels." This is the battle front and more wars will be fought to preserve the west.
If you would like to see a sample of the type of fanaticism that the west faces, please download chapters 1 thru 4 on the following web site: Caution: graphic. No children should view.

Both got no valid reasons for killing innocence ... but I guess Terrorist are taken seriously ... Drunk Driver, Bank Robber are not
I guess Government are humans after all, they cannot look after everyone *** ...
Terrorist acts are costly to the Country, Government which concern their pay cheque ... who really give a damm about you and your family are knock down by a drunk driver, maybe the
news agencies!
Or else why Drunk Driver are not charged for murder / attempted manslaughter ... its a deliberate action to use a dangerous object (vehicle) and move along 'space' (road) to inflict harm or causes death to another human being! Who cares, it does not affect the economy of a NATION control by Government who are voted to take control of YOU & ME by YOU & ME (bunch of 'morons')
PS: Voting chances are like striking lottery in Singapore ... election day, do not even have enough or 'qualified' alternative party to challege ruling party.

No dying is dying
However, what the government is worried about the terrorist expanding their campaign and killing even more, but yes I wish more effort was put in to stop gang violence. It maybe hard to stop random individual acts of murder, but we should be able to prevent organized efforts.

Most of your examples are state or local jurisdiction, not federal. Terrorism can, and have, killed thousands and want to topple whole countries.
