Why does one have to be white to be a redneck?

I'm black, Christian, patriotic, southern, and country. Wouldn't this be enough to make me a redneck? I know plenty of black people like me so why has this been painted out to just be a white thing? I guess that depends on what your definition of "redneck" is though. The word redneck can also be negative-meaning narrow minded or a reactionary gun nut. But once again, those characteristics transcend race.

Redneck is the same thing as the "N" word, people just use it for color and negatively, even though you hear what it means; there isn't a color to them. It is just, people assume that they have color to them. I know a lot of black rednecks from the south, they dip, like hunting, NASCAR, listen to country music, southern Baptist and drive trucks. Oh and don't forget watches American football while drinking a beer. *smiles* I would say don't worry about putting a label on yourself and just be who you are and be proud redneck and black. *smiles*

The term comes from farmers who got sunburned necks. Generally speaking, the only people who burn like that in the Southeast are very light-skinned people, usually of Celtic ancestry. I'm half Cherokee and never burn in the sun, so how could I be a redneck if my neck doesn't turn red to begin with?

A better term for the narrow-mindedness is probably "hick," which has more to do with location,. But people should NEVER assume that just because someone is Southern, they're inherently hicks or rednecks. I almost sued someone over that once.

If this grew to become into on the different foot and that i had to choose for between the two distinctive black human beings. i could choose for the single that lies. i think of absolutely everyone who can not teach self administration or tolerance it the final moments are jackasses..... I advise i'm getting it, be your self and do what you experience. yet hell, I hate white human beings maximum days. You don't have to be white to be a redneck. It's about how you're behaving, not what colour you are. Forgive that this will sound racist, but you get Afrikaans people and then Dutchmen. You get black people and then K*****s. And it's not because of their colour or language - it's how they behave. (In MY humble opinion anyway...)

where i used to live in texas i knew alot of black rednecks.......so there is no rule that says only whites can be rednecks....no.....i can tell you r one so there is nothing to worry bout......just tell whoever says u ain't one tell em to kiss ur redneck black a$$
