Michael Vaughan is missed very much. The current crop of English players in particular are very good in short spells but a complete disaster as far as long term career is concerned. I believe that the English Cricket Board should take steps boost players physiologically. Save them from wear and tear which is a part of international cricket grind.
I am referring this particularly to reasons being given by players for not playing. You will remember a certain English player opted of India tour stating that it was stress related issue. Wonder how Sachin Tendulkar who carries the weight and burden of a billion people, hawkish media with such poise and calm.
Moral of the blah blah: England players are good individually but fail as a team or unit.

Michael Vaughan is not only a very good leader, but also a good batsman. England defenitely need him in the Ashes series. His presence in the team would have motivated the players to perform much better.

A hell of a lot, but not enough to have held onto the ashes. We would have still lost but i doubt it would have been quite as humiliating. Vaughan averaged above 60 in australia last time out and showed guts and class. But his leadership is the greatest loss. He worked well with Fletcher and constantly got the best out of his players, especially the bowlers. His field placings were inventive and usually showed intent whereas Freddie, bless him, has looked negative and out of depth and his overall performance has suffered as a result. Another great loss is Simon Jones who was just developing into a world class strike bowler before his injury. But then again, a great many English cricketers have been 'missing' this winter.

i actually miss the Ind-Aus sequence and how it became performed even however the spirit can basically be seen with the aid of angels. I element, i elect to remind and reminded myself is to not fall to the catch of BCCI and media. only circulate back one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days on an identical time the place became India and Pak cricket. It became in shambles being out of WC and not qualified and upload to it the dying of Pak coach. quickly got here few sequence of cricket, India winning in Eng and against BD. Then got here this Aus excursion the place everybody became assuming India will unfastened badly. besides the shown fact that it grew to become out to be a particular contest the two in exams and ODI, different than for some. yet upload to it, all the drama and hype brought about with the aid of gamers, media and boards. comprise ICC to it. I disagree the rivalry between Pak and India isn't there. it continues to be there and it incredibly is a particular friendship and rivalry on an identical time. Pak gamers have injuries and specifically the main bowlers and additionally the Indian %. bowlers. i'll take the Ind-Pak sequence any day, any time and it incredibly is often performed in super activity. What i do unlike is the single-sided affairs as we are seeing in SA-Ind sequence. SA has been dominant so far and Indian bowlers have not come to words on their very own pitches. it incredibly is the challenge. we don't see any controversies, that's good for the sport, yet one-sided video games are consistently uninteresting no remember if it incredibly is SA or Aus or Eng or Pak. a particular combat even in case of a lost reason is exciting than winning one way consistently. that's what the sport is approximately. on the subject remember of umps, enable us to all supply them a destroy....they deserve greater interior the Indian warm summer season. Pitches and Indian adjusting to their very own pitch is the challenge. Wait until the Aus come to circulate to India.

bringing in Vaughan wouldnt have made any difference. Eng. were beaten by a better all round team. When England's batsmen cant get 100 runs between them from no 5 onwards and Aust's bbowlwers can get that each u have problems.. Dont think that just becuse Warnie and McGrath wont be there next year u have no worries becos there r more out there just as good as them

I know that is not a widely held opinion, however, I think that we missed Simon Jones the most.
Without him. we were unable to apply constant pressure on the Aussie batsmen. When one of them fails, the captain can always throw the ball to one of his other 3 bowlers.
Jones is the best "reverse swing" bowler that we have by a mile.
He also lengthens the batting line up.

Freddie Flintoff is an world class player but he was always going to struggle with the captaincy.Vaughan is a class captain but we should not give him the captaincy for the one dayers as he needs to concentrate on just playing and regaining his fitness. We did not lose this series because of who our captain was,we lost because of awful preparation

absolutely spot on, Vaughan is a leader of men and inspired the whole team but especially Strauss, who looks completely lost with Cook, and don't forget the loss of Simon Jones a bowler inspired by Vaughan. wouldn't he have done the same with our other underachievers?

He was so important to the team with him would have done better. Most important it would have allowed Freddie to concentrate on his game,The England team no real fight,In many cases they threw their wickets away by playing poor strokes,The team had only ten days to aclimatise in Oz,The selection board should be replaced along with Fletcher,We can now only get better
