Underachievement in the world cup last summer, can't win a game of Rugby and now humiliated in the cricket. Can't even win at darts either!
Has anybody got any ideas where it has all gone so terribly wrong for England and sport?

What happened ? Political correctness made us lose our competitive edge - like the Aussies still have.
Schools teach kids there's nothing wring with coming last, and treat winners and losers the same - apart from with exams !! At my nephews school they race but they all get a certificate

more investment is needed at a junior level. Kids need to get outside and hopefully parents be more disciplined and ween them off these counter-productive video game consoles! England has 40million people britain 60 million we should be able to beat a country of only 20million at a game of cricket, a sport we invented!

Yes!for a start you put too much pressure on them,in the papers and media.Before they even start they are on a hidding to nothing.Investment is needed in the grass rootes,you only have to look at the aussies to see this in all sports.

I'm with chillipop all the way. that is the exact reason PC foisted upon us by lefties and slavishly copied from the USA. Fortunately for them they have a vast country and some areas will not submit, but we are totally ruled by the liberal/left wing agenda!

People seem to like to beat us and do ungentlemanly things like sledging and practising beforehand. We should choose our opponents more carefully. Football against Australia. Rugby against Germany. Cricket against Argentina. Conkers against the US.
