Can all PS2 games be played with the PS3 controller?

I just got a PS3, and I have never owned a PS2 or PS1 before. I just ordered about 30 games off of ebay, and I was wondering if the PS3 controller will be able to play them all. Thanks for your responses!

YES, they do work, you just won't get any rumble, and not "many" games don't work on the PS3, it's roughly 3% of the PS2s library, and all the good games work fine.

No-if it did, then no one would buy the PS3!
