i would like to rent a small farm from sept. through march in michocan, mexico. saftey first concern!! i want something a typical mexican family would live in, nothing posh.

You may have a hard time doing that. Mexico has very stringent immigration laws. And they enforce them.

I would not advise it. Today, with all the recent press about illegal immigration from Mexico to the U.S., there is a growing and obvious dislike for Americans inside all of Mexico. I was in Cancun earlier this year. The attitude toward me was noticeably on the bad side. I suggest you look into a like kind farm adventure in the southwest or southern part of the U.S.

Well i gotta tell u...the ppl from michoacan r really nice...well some of em` but yea most of them are. ive been there a bunch of times n its very beautiful and saFE!! well wait. i dont know about right now...just hear the news about the mexican president. hes doin a tough job over there in michoacan but i think it is pretty safe. im plannin 2 go next month. so it better b safE! :D MICHOACAN...#1 :D
