It is possible to get pregnant after coming off of the depo injection but sometimes it can take a while for your fertility to get back normal, up to 18 months in fact! I looked at all this before deciding not to use it coz basically i'm too impatient to wait 18 months after coming off of it if I had decided I want a baby. My sister didn't even start her periods again until 9 months after stopping her injection.

Depo provera is a synthetic hormone given in larger doses as a form of birth control that works about three months, or a smaller dose to help stimulate periods in a woman whose cycle is not ending.
It is an effective pregnancy preventative when the regimen is properly followed. After that timeframe pregnancy is possible and it is feasible that a person could wait too long between injections.

I was on depo for 7 years & think I can safely say that it's near on impossible to conceive whilst on it... or for a good while after you come off it!
It took me 5 years to conceive after stopping the depo!
When you take a break from it though, your body reacts differently.
For example... when I first took it my periods were very light/not there & I gained some weight. (bloating as you described).
I missed one of the injections & waited a couple of weeks like yourself for my next bleed. When I got back on the depo, this time I spotted very heavily & lost weight! It also affected my skin with acne!
So maybe your body is reacting differently owing to the break in the cycle.
To be sure, get a pregnancy test... they're only £5 for two from Sainsburys! Well worth the peace of mind!
Just remember though that if you want to come off it and try for a baby, it could take AGES for your fertitlity to return to normal!
xx

Oh my goodness girlie...think you should check yourself out with a test. i only say that because of my situation. After being on Depo-provera for a year and a half..I decided to have a baby so never went back for my injection....exactly one month later I was pregnant so if you work that out I must have ovulated two weeks after i missed the injection to have got pregnant so it can definately happen...even though all the docs warn it can take upto two and a half years after being on this to fall pregnant...that wasnt the case for me. Do a test hun....goodluck!!! And let us know!!!

You can get pregnant on any birth control method. The most effective way to prevent getting pregnant is either abstinance, tubal ligation, or a vasectomy. Certain antibiotics do not work with birth control(i.e. the pill) because they decrease the effectiveness(found out the hard way). When I was on the pill and then I decided it was time to plan having a child, my doctor told me it would take at least 6 mos. before my hormones readjust for me to get pregnant. I was pregnant within a month.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/8znQp
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

You would have to be really quite far through your pregnancy to feel kicking - over 4 months, or even 5. Do you really think you are 5 months pregnant and haven't noticed?
