If anybody paid close attention most of the democrats that won and took back congress basically ran on a conservative platform ( it would be nice if the so called conservative republicans took notice).
What will be interesting is to see if the democrats overplay their hands because this is not a liberal country no matter what some of you believe. If they go to the left we could see a course correction in 2008.

I had really hoped that Democrats would be true to their claims of change for all and bi-partisan cooperation, but if their first actions in the House are any indicator what we will get is politics as usual. Democrats have already stated that for their beginning legislation they will use House Rules to prevent any input on proposed bills from Republicans. No matter how you choose to view this it is not bi-partisan in spirit. Republicans have used this same tactic in the past and I didn't like it then and I do not like it now. The absolute hypocrisy of this move was distasteful, especially with Nancy Pelosi stating "Partnership, not Partisanship" in her House Speaker acceptance speech yesterday.

Unfortunately their neo-Bolshevik leaders have already broken their promises and begun their irresponsible pushing through national security legislation in the first 100 hours (with no time for oversight or analysis! Real safe and responsible Demos!)

The Democrats care not for this country, only for power and for promoting the disgusting liberal hate machine further up the ladder.

Blue Dog Democrats are sizable in numbers and will have an impact. To listen to Conservatives squeal about the bi-partisan issue is truly funny, and sad. After the way they've acted since '94, they need to have a generous cup of 'shut the f&ck up'
