He was an OK choice...being a die hard Alabama fan I think we would have been just as good hiring Sylvester Croomes...no doubt...I think it is just a matter of time till Alabama football is back to where it needs to be...it is hard to build a great team when we were on probation for most of the 90's...thanks Auburn for turning us in...WAR CHICKEN!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!! I can not wait I love to see SEC teams do well, I am tired of the over rated "main stream" teams...Norte Dame...etc...It took almost 2 1/2 QTRS for the announcers to get off of Norte Dame's and that fat *** coach they have balls...LSU had to be leading by three touchdowns for that to happen...just my 2 cents

Saban probably left Miami because he wasn't able to produce a winning NFL team. The same has happened to other college coaches in the NFL, remember Spurrier?
He'll be ok at Bama, but it'll take 3 years to get where they need to be and I wonder it the Tide Money will be willing to wait that long.
Success is measured at Alabama on if you can beat Auburn. Nothing else matters.

I'm also on the Saban bandwagon, but he hasn't shown he's the best yet. I don't see why we should forget what he did at LSU, it's still part of his career. Other coaches have won the NC in their second year at a school, which sadly, Saban failed to do. He's also no Bear Bryant yet, which is what Alabama is looking for.

Personally, I don't think the coach matters that much. Take a look at the quality of players that have come down the pike in the past few years. Most of them are whiney candy A** couch potatoes who think they are the best, and refuse to be told what to do. Not just Alabama, but college football in general.
Maybe the Nicktator will pull a few kinks out of the whole team, athletic director and The good ol boys that run the show. Let's let him try.

He left Michigan State in 1999 because he didn't like playing second fiddle to Michigan, even though in its past the Spartans had eras (the '50s and most of the '60s) were they were the dominant program in the state.
Well, guess what. He's now back to being second fiddle.
I don't expect the money whore, the Larry Brown of football, to stay at Alabama longer than 3 years, when some NFL team, desperate to lose some money on a bad coach, decides to call him up.

first of all I'm a LSU fan so i know he leaves..... but why blame him? just as easily as he walked out on that contract he could have gotten fired from that contract. he couldn't coach in the NFL so he did Miami a favor, he is a excellent college football coach and he took LSU from the bottom of the SEC to a National Championship in 4 years and he is the reason LSU is in the top 5 today i wouldn't be suprised if he did lead Alabama to a championship in a few years

I think it adds to the auroa of invincibilaity of the overrated SEC. They will probably start unfairly higher than they should in the polls giving the appearance of a brutal schedule by the top SEC team...Look at Wisconsin beating Auburn last year and starting the year off unranked while Auburn was given the 4th seed. How is this fair? It is all about being popular in the south which seems to be highly overrated. RIP Tennessee VS unranked Big Ten team and RIP Arkansas for being overrated.

Nick Saban is a lying skunk. Miami is better off without him. I feel sorry for Alabama.
