i accidentally put my lovely vintage gloves in the washing machine and they're looking awful now...
they were very soft white leather, and had never been worn before i got them, and now the leather's looking all parchment-like, yellow and cracked in places.
is there anything i can do at all or am i going to have to bin them? :(
thanks!!
cecile

try a leather oil that may soften the gloves. something like mink oil, or a leather conditioner to soften the leather, but it may be too late

Is there perhaps some kind of leather cleaner you could use on them? Why don't you ask at your local dry cleaners - if they do leather - and they will advise you and might be able to sell you something? I'm wondering if saddle soap would help but don't just try it in case it doesn't -good luck.

Try asking in a shoe repair shop - they will have leather treatment creams which might work. Or try rubbing a few drops of olive oil into them. Good luck.

You can get special leather creams that might work. I would try key cutter booths or shoe stores as they may have something.
