moral standards and social skills are higher on Yahoo than on the real world? I mean rude people are usually reported, we tend to be more polite and to have more friends than in real life (by the way, those with more than 100 friends on their 360* page, do you think they have as many friends in their real life too?)...

No. Are you new to the internet? No, the illusion of anonymity allows the twelve year olds to behave quite badly here. Some rude people may be reported, but very nice people have been removed due to some herd instinct or animus.

I wouldn't have any friends on my 360, because I have been on line using discussion forums and professional boards a long time, and am fully aware that people on the internet are rarely as the seem; people on the net tend to exaggerate the aspects they view as positive, and ignore or deny their true nature.

I would certainly hope people with 100 friends on their 360 page have more in real life. Everyone I knew has hundreds of friends. While I tend to know more people than most, I can't imagine anyone I know having fewer than a few hundreds of friends.

Yahoo! and 360 are just a game, and some are slow on the uptake. People are here to satisfy some void in their life, or to spend some time. It isn't real life, it is just another diversion. In this category, it is really more like second form.

This may just be a rant, but...
I believe 'moral standards' are a sham. Not everyone has the same morals or beliefs, therefore, who are you (anyone, including Y!A team) to tell me what to believe? F You!
I've been reported, had answers deleted, (some I have no idea why) because I may had said something, possibly to offend somebody. OH NO!
If you are easily offended, don't come on here, or surf the net at all, or watch movies, or talk to people, or leave the house.
Grow up!
Censorship is dead.
You can't tell people what to do.
You just can't.
Reporting someone (unless it is for spam, due to utter annoyance and not progression) is simply stupid.
To report someone is to say you think you are right.
Well guess what, you aren't!
You can't control people.
To control them is to take free will away, and you cannot do that.
So speak up people, say what you want, if you offended anyone, then it's their loss for not growing and accepting what is out there.
AND, why the **** does Y! blank out 'bad' words!?
Who said they were bad and unreadable? They exist don't they? Who are they to blank out words, and why a select few? Cause someone else said so? Oh I get...do what you're told, be who you're told, live for someone else, obey the rules, don't think too much.
Whatever...

And are people being polite? I hope so, but don't be so 'polite' as to not be yourself. And don't be rude for the sake of it. Just type what you want but make it worth while. Don't waste people's time (like I may be doing right now (but that's up to you (and who are you!?)))

Sites like 'myspace' and '360' etc. are kind of lame as they get sloppy and cluttered. I think they are a good idea, but some people are just friends with others cause they want to. And 'friends' can mean acquaintance, partner, co-worker, connection.

What I'm saying is, I'm a little fed up with being told what to do and how to act and having this site continues it. If I don't like, I won't come here, but I like other parts, so I continue with THOSE parts and avoid the 'bad'. I just don't think I should be reported for answering a question that has no need to be reported.
Smarten up!
There's more out there than you think.

I agree. That is because it's so much easier to be anything you want on the Internet, but in real life you really have to work at being polite and nice.

I totally agree. In general, one's internet life is different from their real, because I think we hide behind our screens not fearing that someone will know us while in real life we have those fears of how we perform in social situations etc.

I personally don't think that those who have lots of interent friends have the same number in real life! Because most of us pretend to be a flirt and outgoing etc while in real life many of us might not be.

The internet is always easier because people dont know you so you can say whatever & they can say whatever they want, so when you have that option its easier to be polite because you know you can say what you want.
its easier to make friends because you dont have to meet them or get physically involved in their life
