The wisest man I ever knew taught me something I never forgot.. and although I never forgot it, I never quite memorized it either.. So what I'm left with is the memory of having learned something very wise that I cant quite remember

the last to phase are important remember when first you started to drive you've been thinking repeated I'm going to push the clutch put it into 1st slowly push he accelerator .... and all that
nowadays you don't even think about it you just drive
and if someone tells you to explain you should sit there and think before you answer but before that you were quicker in answering such a question but now definitely a better drive.
the answer to your question is you certainly made it to the last phase and unconsciously doing it perfect. like reading walking and everything we've learned ain't that amazing

It's happened to me too. I love to get a tall cool glass of tea and sit on the porch on summer nights and listen to the elders tell their tales and pass on their wisdom. For some reason, I cannot relay one bit of knowledge or wise lesson that i heard them say. i think it has something to do with the "tea".
