Citation needed. At what point did Al Quaida and/or the Taliban ever "control the Middle East"? Because like every reputable international intelligence agency, I was kind of under the impression that the Taliban had a tenuous hold on Afghanistan which is on the fringes of the Middle East geographically, a political irrelevance and an economic and diplomatic nonentity, while Al Qaida was an extra-governmental criminal consortium that never controlled anything. Actual common sense would, I suggest, involve leaving foreign policy to people who actually understand where and what the Middle East is, and the complexity of the international situation there.

As a former resident of New York at the time of 9-11, I take great offense not only to your ignorance, but to your pomp and arrogance. If you don't like the the US or if you are so sympathetic to Bin Laden's cause, why don't you move to Pakistan or Afghanistan? That goes for anyone of you who believes that 9-11 was a manufactured, government plot to cause a war to happen, who thinks the US is the "Great Satan", or are so sick and tired of having too much freedom on their hands so you can have the rights to print your uninformed & obviously uneducated comments on the internet. Someday it may be your hometown to go up in a mushroom cloud. Maybe you'll see things more clearly, that is if you survive.
There's a great quote from the movie "Forrest Gump" that applies to this: "Are you dumb, or just plain stupid?"

You're right - it is odd that still today so many of Iraq's and Afg's citizens are being treated as if they had attacked the US - while the Saudi & UAE enjoy immunity from criticism about their authoritarian ways. Perhaps rather than fight Sadr and the neo-bathists, they should be trying to get them involved in the new govt. But do try to remember when you are siding with conspiracy theories and accept that you are taking the minority view.
I believe these two countries were invaded because it was seen as ways of giving the US elite more influence, trade and control over that region. I believe they were hoping to help the local population, but only if those they disliked stepped aside and allowed those they liked to take over. In the end they fought both wars on behalf of the 100 biggest US-owned companies, which is sad for those of us who are humans.

I believe that Laden and Bush are actually working together and been working together for a very long time, I personally believe they planed 9/11, as an excuse for "war against terrorism"... Did you wonder why Laden still haven't been called, well I did and came up with this, then soon after I watched a couple of documentaries, proved me right and made a lot of sense well more sense then Bush and his partners ever made...

There is another goal long laid out and referred to by Bush Sr & Jr 'The New Order'. By bringing the citizens into a disaster they will more readily accept the adjustments in lifestyles(more govt control, less freedom). If you look up NWO there are many sites. However, the rad-Islams are on a 'calling' to establish an Islamic world to usher in their Mahdi with pres of Iran the special delegate.

Have you been under a rock? They've been around for awhile and have terrorized us before, just not on our soil in such a catastrophy. When 9/11 happened they got alot of press and now everyone has heard of them. They terrorize the people around them as well and could turn Saudi Arabia into a war torn god-forsaken country.

The attacks on 9/11 happened because George Bush and Tony Blair declared war on terrorism and didn't think that the enemy was going to respond. They were surprised that anyone would be so impudent as to commit such an act and allowed their defences to weaken. The mistake that was made was the US's under estimation of how much the Moslem world and elsewhere hates America's money grabbing, gung-ho attitude. They are in the minds of many "The Great Satan"
