It'd help some because now gangs and such are selling it, it's more expensive than it should be and thus people are stealing to get enough money to pay for it, and people go to jail because of something that isn't worse than having an alcoholic drink. But world peace, no I wouldn't go that far! It's already legal in some countries, including where I live, and we still have plenty other, totally unrelated crimes!

it would help decrease organized crimes hold on Mexico. It's like when the italian mafia was running booze during the prohibition in the twenties. All the governement did was make the mob rich. If it is legalized then there would be no profit in smuggling it. It could be taxed and regulated. In fact, I think it would even help some of the american farmers. Let's face it. Tobacco farming makes money. Put a high import tax to discourage foreigners from importing it. This would give the american farmers an advantage. Besides, the money that was generated would stay in the U.S. economy, instead of being taken abroad. We would still have a problem with the harder narcotics and law enforcement would be able to focus more on that criminal element. Let's be honest with ourselves. Pot heads aren't gonna go away. So, if we are going to hurt organized crime, make it legal and that will take away the profit for them.

I think there would be more focus on it, it would be even more illegal to grow it because it it were home grown then the gov't wouldn't get the taxs on it, and you know how greedy THEY are. I think it would make it a lot more expensive, But on the other hand, people wouldn't resort to violence to get it, people wouldn't be "ripping" other people off and that whole thing wouldn't be there as much. As far as i know, the only reason they don't leagalize it is because they haven't come up with a test that tells them if you are high while driving, as it is in your system for 30 days (I htink 30 days anyway)

not sure about the world piece thing but it should be legalized after all alcohol is legal and also if the government found a way to make money on it they would legalize it. i don't smoke it myself but i know people who do and they are just as normal as the next guy.
