Yesssss!
You need a special connection to do so. Basically it's one male plug from one side that goes into Audio Out of your laptop (Headset plug) and at the other side there are two rounded connectors (like AV ones) Usually comes in Red and White.

Most of stereo systems have inputs called AUX (or Auxiliary). Plug these rounded connectors into there, and operate your stereo in AUX mode (or equivalent).

Good luck and enjoy it!

Of course you can.................depending on what connections you have on both items of equipment.
Simplest Get a jack running from your green speaker socket on your laptop to the headphone or line in socket on your stereo.
However if your stereo has no line in or mic socket you can't do it.
You will need a one of these plugs or a mix (some stereo plugs are larger but you can splice them on to each other

You could also try optical (spdif) out to an optical in (especially on sony systems)

This will give you great digital sound but is not always available on laptops.
finally you can buy kits to go cordless but I've never tried them

Depends on what input and output sockets you have, but a phono-phono should do the trick, it costs about £1 p/m, and goes from the audio-out from your laptop to the audio-in on your stereo.

If you have AV-in though, you can use a phono-AV cable, which is about £2 p/m and will deliver a better quality.
