OK sounds like these people have had Kids before. Yes it's like having to take a serious crap, but your body will just let you know like everyone says. Although I don't advise the crying and screaming if you can help it at all possible. All this does is make you tense up tighter and not relax, the more relaxed you are during birth the easier it is for the pelvic bone to open up more and push that baby out. Basically the more calm you can be the faster it'll go pushing.

You force your stomach down. It comes naturally when the time comes, quite often the midwife has to tell you to stop pushing between contractions as the urge is still there.

Don't worry, you won't have that problem. You will feel a NEED to push properly. Your body will want to do it all on it's own. The problem will be when you have to stop pushing for the doctor.

Um, just like the other other kind of pushing, only with a lot of screaming and maybe some crying.

You push like you are having a big bowel movement. Those are the muscles you use.

It's an instinct built into your body... your body just tells you to push NOW and you can't help it.

You just DO IT!!! I found my body took over and honestly you just seem to do it. Listen to your midwife though, they are generally fantastic and if they say pant then pant. Better than tearing.
