All you can do is work with him and try to get him to accept handling. Start by just putting your hand in the cage (maybe for 30- 60 seconds at a time). As he gets comfortable with it, slowly increase the time and distance to him until you can hold him. It will take time, so don't push or rush him. Some hamsters can be snippy, so it may or may not work...depends on his temperament.

Do not get his teeth removed! People ever heard of doing research before you buy a pet good grief. I hand train Hamsters that supposedly are vicious little beasts good grief good grief. Step #1 Do not pick up your hamster right away gently put the hard end of a tooth brush on his back and gently stroke it. He may role over on his stomach he just feels threatened. Hes not used to being touched yet. I highly recommend doing this at night because Hamsters are nocturnal. After about a week you can start taking him out of his cage. One way is to put a canning jar in the cage and let him crawl in. After your OK with that you can start picking him up.

If that isn't working try seeing if his habitat is good enough. IE) Does he have a wheel, Do you stimulate him enough? I recommend going to different hamster websites. If you read enough you can tell if something is fact or fiction. If you love your hamster do it.

By the way if you don't own a Hamster don't reply your not helping. Also other animals don't not usually carry over to other animals say you know about dogs that doesn't make you a Hamster expert so please just stop. You also never hit your hamster and say no Hamsters Shocking comment coming up here: HAMSTERS DON'T NEED HUMANS NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK THEY NEED YOU THEY DON'T!! Hamsters unless they are Dwarfs usually live alone and don't need company. When you train a hamster you are training them to accept you not say oh another Hamster lets be friends to them your a rock ok. DEAL!!

I don't know much about hamsters, but what I do with my puppy is to say NO, tap the nose with a finger, and then find her something else she can chew on. I do know that rodents HAVE to chew to keep their teeth ground down, so make sure your little furbaby has access to chew toys.

Edit: KK, what's your problem? That anger is a little out of proportion. I don't care if you are the hamster expert of the world, it doens't give you the right to tell others not to reply.

Some hamsters are more temperamental than others. Yours is probably angry or maybe sick. My second hamster got really snippy before he died. So you should check him out. Or maybe he just doesn't like to be held. Try to get him used to your hand in the cage before you try and grab for him. Also when you're holding him, let him crawl around on your arms, don't try to hold him in one place for a long time. I hope you figure it out because hamsters are so adorable.

I've never had a hamster, but I guess you should just scold it and then leave it alone. Maybe it was just in a bad mood, or maybe you just kept bugging it and it wanted to be alone. If it keeps biting you, then he is officially the evil hamster of doom and when people ask why he bites, you just say "because he's the evil hamster of doom..." and just leave them confuzed. :]
