I'm a sixteen year old teen. Ever since I enter high school I've always been depressed. Feeling left out and misunderstood by both friends in school and family at home.

I'm also depressed because I have a mother who can't walk right now and I'm feeling helpless. Having a little brother doesn't help either.

Several times in my life I have suffered depression. The most debilitating were;
1/ Litigation as to where I lost access to my children, sought help from GP and overcame it without taking antidepressents.
2/ Work related stress, again was assisted with counselling no medication.
3/ When I was informed by my mother, my sister and I were written out of her will, again counselling no medication.

There have been other periods also, these were not recognised by me and self medicated with alcohol and simply 'partied' hard.
Now, I go to gym, talk about what is happening for me with those I trust and recognise it is part of my genetic inheritance from mother's side of family. It takes a lot of hardwork to not give in to the 'black fog' and sometimes I am not successfull and then I remember my family (children) and how lucky I am that my 3 girls took the time to know me, accept me, love me and most importantly feel comfortable enough to make fun of me.
I have so much empathy for those who experience this 'crippling' episode of their life and just hope and pray that they can find that part of themself to climb out of the fog and realise that once the fog has lifted it is a bright beautifull day. Not perfect, just brighter.
My motto, "if the sun is shining, if rain is falling, the world is turning, if the birds are singing then go greet the day. Everything in life is temporary and so too is this that I am feeling, love me as I deserve it".
Best wishes to all who read this.

I actually suffer from depression. It is because of the seratonin in your brain There are a lot of reasons people get depressed. One example; you are overwhelmed. Your body cant handle too many things going on at once and it "shuts down". Causing depression.

I'll be honest with you since you asked this question. I'm currently quite depressed over my new class after last year's streaming as I have been sent to a bad class..and i really dislike this class right now. my friend urged me to switch to the same class as hers but i cant decide..if i switch people will think of me as a stupid idiot who cant even score well in science yet dreaming of switching to another better class...omg.
