in pure computing as computers work in binary there would be 1024 gigo in a tera but, when companies sell you things they have you believe it is 1000 (when you bought that 100gb hdd it only reports as being 90ish)
technically there are 1024 GB in one TB
however the pirates will have you believe it is only 1000 so as they can sell you something that is not really what it claims to be
