Yellowy/orange color could be due to too much carrotts or carrott juice???? Spongy and split a lot?? Drink more milk sweetie, you need calcium for strong bones, teeth and healthy hair.............Find a low fat one if full fat milk bothers you or if you're lactose intolerant try soy milk or rice milk. Soy milk is really nutty and rice milk is sweet.......mmmmmmmm yummy!! Seriously, milk will also lift your mood, even out mood swings. Protein is important to for healthy vital life - nails splitting shows a deficiency. Maybe get a calcium supplement????????

That could be a sign of bad nutrition. Take vitamins, but you may consider visiting a nutritionist and a general family practitioner over a period of time just to make sure no other major issues are going on. Change in the eyes and nails is sometimes clue to some serious medical conditions.

If you use red nail polish without using a base coat it will discolor your nails temporarily. It could also happen with other bright colors. Use base coat or any clear polish before applying color.

Since they're spongy you may benefit for added calcium. Ask your doctor or a pharmacist for advice. A good multivitamin or change in your diet could help.

Possibly too much carotene in your diet (carrots etc) and the nails splitting could be caused by a calcium deficiency like my Niece as she doesn't like milk or Cheese. Good luck and Happy new year.

Try and clean them inside, as dirt is embedded in them! and then soak them in warm water and lemon.

Fungus. Like that little bastard on the tv commercials that lifts up the nail! It comes from the inside out so you need to take medication to clear it up.
