Absolutely not. When partner's have to resort to hitting one another it's definately a failed relationship. Usually the hitting becomes more frequent, get's more serious, and escalates to objects being thrown at the person.
I've witnessed this for years as i'm a marriage counselor. Once the hitting starts there is no stopping it. It's time to go your separate ways and never again get involved with each other.
The person doing the hitting has some anger management and communication issues and should seek counseling to address the issues so as not to continue this behavior.
When it comes right down to the real un-told truth about domestic violence. WOMEN through verbal, emotional, hitting, throwing objects at thier men, far out number Men Abusers, but 90% of the time when the man strikes back he goes to jail.

Should they stay. NO. but we do. I know a women who always hits her husband. And I mean really hits him. Makes him bleed, broke his nose, makes him sleep outside in the car, etc... and he still keeps coming back. Its harder when the man get hit or beaten. I believe this man can beat her up, he just don't fight back. I believe if he did it would be him going to jail.So its harder for men.

no way that is sooo totally wrong! no one should have to put up with that kind of abuse male or female! you could always get counselling of course, but who knows where the 'hitting' may lead to in the future if control and action isn't taken?? strangling? kick boxing? i mean how far will you let it go untill you decide to do something about it. remember things can evolve very quickly in life from like to love from hit to punch

I wouldn't encourage anyone to remain in any abusive relationship- it is wrong. Seek help and/or let the spouse know you will condone this kind of behavior.
