probably f8 when you boot to come up in safe mode so that you can set the resolution and install the drivers for the card.

I used to have this card and never had this problem nor heard of any voodoo to get it working.

The most trouble I had was having to reinstall the geforce drivers after reinstalling windows. This was never hard, even in 16 colours. That and when the ballbearings went in the fan it sounded scratchy but otherwise worked fine for gaming for AGES and AGES. Replacement fans are only about $10 anyway if you ever experience this problem later on.

If your screen is blank, check to make sure that the monitor is receiving an ON signal from your computer at boot up (same as a tv light on the front).

Double check to make sure your monitor is plugged into the power and that all your cables are connected properly. If you have a second monitor, try plugging that on in instead.

I had a similar problem at work and freaked out, but then I remembered the monitor cable plugged in to both ends and that the monitor side was loose.

I used to have this card and in no way had this challenge nor heard of any voodoo to get it working. the main challenge I had became having to reinstall the geforce drivers after reinstalling homestead windows. This became in no way complicated, even in sixteen colorings. That and whilst the ballbearings went interior the fan it sounded scratchy yet otherwise worked nice for gaming for a while and a while. alternative followers are basically approximately $10 besides in case you ever experience this challenge later on. in the experience that your demonstrate screen is sparkling, verify to make helpful that the computer screen is receiving an ON sign out of your computer at boot up (same as a television gentle on the front). Double verify to make helpful your computer screen is plugged into the flexibility and that one and all your cables are linked suitable. in case you have a 2nd computer screen, attempt plugging that on in fairly. I had an identical challenge at artwork and freaked out, yet then I remembered the computer screen cable plugged in to the two ends and that the computer screen factor became unfastened.

First of all, I hope you are lucky enough didn't burn your motherboard.

I donno about your M/B, but some will burn if your plug in old type of AGP cards. (GeForce 2 MX 400 is quite old card).

Anyway, you car refer to both manuals of M/B and Video card to check compatibility between them. If compatible, try to take it off, clean the AGP slot by dry air or dry brush. I've experienced a lot of dust-related VGA issues.

Another case, if you have a Built-In Video card and AGP slot at the same time, first try to connect your monitor to both plugs (the built-in and the additional outpits). Sometimes you need to configure you BIOS to use the additional card instead.

Good indication of your system working or not: How ss your HDD indicator? if active, it means something wrong with settings not a hardware issue.

Please update for further troubleshooting.
