I have to make a choice between two jobs at where I work.

Both jobs I have done before they are just splitting them into two independent roles.

One is mostly corporate design work and maintenance for internal websites in the company. This job looks to be very secure. This job will be working with people I know, in the same building I am in.

The other job is a working in a new department that is splitting off for the main business; the company will be doing search engine optimisation for a variety of websites. I will be doing web design and maintenance work. This job is a bit risky as it relies on the split off company’s success. I will also be working in a new building with a new team of people I do not know.

I can not decide which one to choose!

Better the Devil you know than the one you don't.

Try and picture yourself in a year's time - would you kick yourself for not taking the plunge or pat yourself on the back because you are secure and set in a job? Do you like a challenge and a bit of danger or do you feel more comfortable with things you know and can rely on and are sure about?
Deep down you know which person you are and you will know which is the right choice. Good luck with whichever path you choose.

Questions to ask yourself:
1. Which one has more opportunity for growth?
2. Which one has the least amount of head aches?
3. Which one pays the most?
4. Do you LIKE the people you working with currently?
5. Which one has job duties that you like the most?

Personally I would go with the first one. Knowing that the job is secure is the major factor.

If you enjoy the first job, it's secure and you get on well with the people there then stick with that one. No point choosing one where you might not like your colleagues and then lose your job!!

Just reading your description , I realise you have probably already decided!

New is ALWAYS better than old.

I notice you use the word "job " though, as opposed to "career". If security is very important to you , that's the only reason to stay put.

Your spelling and punctuation are perfect which tells me you are intelligent. Therefore you should go for the new job! good luck!

go for the one that is best paid. if you choose the new one then you can suck up to the new boss and gain a promotion. and who knows, there might be some hot stuff working there.
