Unfortunately the laws of supply-and-demand rarely match with morality.
People get paid what other people are willing to pay them.
If you really want to know why athletes, movie stars, and moderately talented recording "artists" make so much money, your quarrel is with the public that is willing to shell out big money for what they have to offer but who won't pay a few extra bucks in taxes to give teachers, cops and firefighters higher salaries, and would scream bloody murder if grocery prices went up a little.
There are the people's priorities, laid out in plain view.

It really sucks. Teachers, firefighters, service industry persons also underpaid for hard work. Our system of right and wrong is turned upside down. It's not just the athlete's. The coaches are making fortunes now;too.

lets not forget doctors and nurses who save our lives
fireman,policeman,and paramedics
schoolteachers,daycare providers,on and on these r the true heroes , celebrities, and backbone of our society who should be paid way more than they r even the celebrities and ball players and the president have to depend on nurses and doctors to save their lives and on police and fireman to protect them

its not only farmers... look at teachers and public schools. They have our future's MINDS in their hands. Both are under payed, under staffed, under funded, and under appreciated. They both are over worked, over stressed, and over looked.
