My mum keeps saying anyways instead of anyway and always uses it at the wrong time (for example, when trying to start a brand new sentence). She isn't an american but she did learn american english. It must be written in the unwritten dictionary somewhere. And yes, it's very annoying.
p.s. did you notice i refrained from using the word 'like' in the parentheses?

I don't say anyways. That is not correct grammar. Why do the English use bloody as a curse word when bloody means bleeding from a capillary or vein or artery? It's all about how a person is taught to speak.

Not all do, but those who do obviously have little understanding of the English language, spoken or written. I would hate to grade one of their school papers, had they ever gotten that far, which is doubtful!
