I used Baines & Ernst, but all these firms take out a monthly management fee for themselves and a larger fee upfront when they take you on, so I would in the first instance suggest you pay a visit to your local Citizens Advice Bureaux and get some free advice on the subject. It may be possible to arrange a deal with your creditors yourself (which is a hell of a lot cheaper!) before taking this route or just declare bankrupcty.

I use Churchwood Financial and they have been great. I now only pay £150 per month. I did however have to pay them £187 for a set up fee.

Out of my £150 fee, they take 17.625% (minimum of £29.38) so actually only £120.62 goes to my creditors.

But if I got a loan I would be paying £175 per month over 5 years. This way I am debt free in 4 years 4 months. Plus they freeze the interest and charges that your creditors will put on to you. Also if I got a loan I would be paying interest anyway, so their management fee is only really the equivalent of interest (ok at a higher rate). But if you work out how much interest you would pay on a loan to pay off your debts, plus not having to pay interest on the seperate debts/over limit fees etc it works out better - well it does for me anyway!!

i wouldnt advise any of them, i used two different ones and they got me in more debt as they were taking more of the money for themselves. take it to court and get a judgement order where you can pay it all weekly or monthly, or go bankrupt, it works out easier and cheaper.

Sterling Green are great. I deal with them via my job and they are very helpful.

Another good one is Clearstart, speak to a lady called Julie Taylor, she is wonderful.

Just mail me if you want the telephone numbers for either of them. x
