I need a data switch that has ports for DVI and VGA, PS/2 and USB and preferably audio inputs as well. Does anyone know where I can get one? preferably with cheap shipping to the UK. Thanks.

These devices used to be popular back in the days before perfectly fine cpt monitors started turning up on side walks due to advances in monitor technology. I wish I could remember what models we used back then, but I was just a kid and memory is hazy.

Even still, some people prefer not to resemble matrix wannabes, and want one monitor for MANY MANY computers. Mmmm. I wish I could say the same for myself but I seem to accumulate monitors, and computers. Then they sit in the living room looking like some kind of command centre for the overconsupmtion of electricity.. Such is life.

Brand new, Monitor Switches (also known as Video Switches) cost about US$180, depending on your video type, number of monitors, and your concern for brand quality.

Finding one that works can be confusing because some switches do multiple monitors for single computers (god knows why). What you're looking for is a 2 Male, 1 Female switch. The 2 Male ports will be what your computers connect to, and your 1 Female port is for making your monitor radiate the glorious colour of technology.

This page gives you a good overview of what kind of prices you're looking at.

Always try eBay, even though it's a relatively obscure piece of hardware you might just luck out.

Happy Hunting.
