how do i put 100 or more songs in my 256mb mp3 player?

The shorter the song the more will fit on your mp3 player,256mb generally only hold about 60 tracks. If you want more you will have to get an mp3 player with a larger memory, ie 512mb. Hope this helps!

by making each file smaller than 2½Mb on average

do this by either only having short pieces of music or by converting the files to a lower bitrate say 64 kbps
