Because they want things to go in a specific way but they don't...simple. But some people get less upset than others, it depends on your personality and how stubborn you are.

I agree with the first answer; some people are more stubborn and act like children when things don't go their way. I think to avoid being upset people should be more open minded and have a plan B just in case.

Some people like to be in control of things. Many people usually have a preconcieved idea of how things should be and when they don't go their way , well then they get upset.

That's life now. Everyone seems to suffer with the me, myself, I syndrome.
EG 1.: When I was a kid & we went to see the John Martins Xmas Pageant in Adelaide all the adults would allow the kids to sit in front even if you didn't belong to them. Now it's stiff p--h to
the kids if they can't see. Now we know why kids show disrespect to adults because they are being taught by their parents.
EG 2:When we went shopping we were told, to not touch things or put them back where we got them from. Now people leave the shoes, etc., they have tried on all over the floor so that others can trip or run their trolleys over them. Have their arms all broken off?
