If you understand the true meaning of Marketing, you would certainly delete the question. The answer lies in the meaning of marketing. For a layman, it is satisfying customer needs (desired to be had in the product and or service). When you market cricket, actually you are satisfying the desires of the target market.
So it is really good to market cricket.

There is nothing wrong in marketisation as huge funds are generated from spnsorship rights, telecast rights etc., which can be utilised to develop the game in the areas where the game is not so poular and make the game popular world over. The money generated from the game can be utilised to improve the infrastructure etc..
