Snape can turn good. All the proof showing Dumbledore is dead can be fake (his portrait appearing in the headmaster's room, the phoenix disappearing, the 'wise' centaurs coming to the funeral, etc.). Dumbledore could fake all this. And you're right, dumbledore could be pleading snape to kill him [and follow the plan] instead of sparing him...after all, he only said his name. But everything could still be real so Snape could be good or bad.

He's good. I know it. I've been a dedicated fan of his since the first book. Rowling drove me crazy with Half-Blood Prince though! She's written him perfectly, because now he could be on either side and we won't truly know it until Deathly Hallows. But yes, I fully believe Severus is on the good side. I also agree with you on Severus killing Albus.

First off, he had to. He had agreed to an ubreakable vow. And if he hadn't agreed to that then Narcissa would think he wasn't on the dark side. And the argument Hagrid overhead between Albus and Severus could possibly have been about the vow. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but everything he 'overheard' is pointing to it. And yes, Albus pleading is completely unheard of. People who say he was really pleading for his life is almost laughable. He was 'pleading' because I believe Severus was hesitating. And the reason Severus would be hesitating is because he secretly has a good heart, and Albus has always been on his side. The only one who has trusted him fully. So I think that merits hesitation. It also could have all been an act. Wouldn't it look good for Severus if Albus was 'pleading' to him in front of all those Death Eaters who would all in turn tell Voldemort, which would convince Voldemort that Severus was on his side?

What would probably make me lose my mind would be if we find out that he has actually been on the dark side this whole time. That would totally be something Rowling would do. She has always said that she doesn't understand why people like Severus, and that he's a bad guy. But then again... didn't she also say that picturing Hermione and Ron together was something she'd never do? So whose to say that she hasn't been trying to convince us that Severus is bad when he's truly not? He's good, I tell ya' :D

Yes, I think he could. I've always thought he was on the right side, that is Dumbledore's, even though, while reading the sixth book, I started to consider the other option. In spite of his ambiguous behavior, anyway, I haven't change my mind...as Hermione says in one of the previous books, if we cannot trust Dumbledore, we cannot trust anybody else; and Dumbledore thought that Snape was his man through and through...

I don't think Snape's good at all..........in the Half Blood Prince, he made a deal with Malfoy's parents and in the end he ended up killing Professor Dumbledore......I think anyone who held a grudge against Dumbledore is evil

Yes I think (and hope) he does and will . I don't think he is really "bad" just a product of his environment at an early age
