Thanks for all your help.
I choose to take taxi/mini-van cos there's 5 of us going. So if we take bus to Taipei train station we need to split into two cabs to our hotel, which I think is not worth it.

The Taxis at the Airport are in Queue, so It will be difficult to select, I think.
You can either take the Airport bus Directly to town or a Airport shuttle Mini Van @ about NTS1200/- from this company:

Don't think so. There are some 5 seater taxi at downtown, in front of train station. But you can try to book that kind of taxi from the airport or call the taxi company yourself.

you can get yourself an international drivers licence and rent a car from hertz or one of the other car rental agencies.

most hotels in Taipei have shuttle buses.

There is an ok bus system in place if you need to get to another city you can take united bus (Tong- Lee-En) or dragon tours if you want a nice one.

Why not grab one of the airport busses? They go to Taipei and Taichung (probably other places too) and cost between 125 and 135 NT to Taipei.

Check with your hotel to see if it has a shuttle.

You can squeeze five people into a taxi -- one up front and four in the back. The back is tight though.
