Do you not think we would be better of buying a left back and maybe a back up center back as gardner and davenport are poor at best

indeed, exactly what i have been saying all season. Berbatov, Keane and Defoe are all class, three of the best strikers in the Premiership when on form. Also, Mido is a very good player on his day, remember all the goals he got last season. we als have Barnard who was banging them away for the last few seasons in the Reserves so we have plenty of cover up front. Young-Pyo Lee is not a good player. he is right footed, cannot tackle and hasnt got a great cross so i dont see why we ever play him. however, the alternative is Assou-Ekotto who started well but i have been increasingly unimpressed by him. i would like to see Gareth Barry at the Lane. left-footed, strong, quick, can tackle and get forward well. or even Wayne Bridge who was very good until he got frzen out. And as for centre backs i agree again. Gardner and Davenport are not good enough and Davenport has been at falt for almost all the goals Spurs have conceded whilst he was playing. I would love to see Curtis Davies here but i doubt that he would go from West Brom captain to Spurs reserve. still, i think we should get a quality left back and centre back and leave he strikers alone. they need the confidence and with Berbatov and Defoe getting 22 goals between them this season the future is bright!

Firstly to mike Saunders... Neither Defoe or Keane are leaving... i can guarantee that.. and yes Defoe and berba are awesome at the mo, and i always try to see the best in mido but he just dosnt score goals , so we could do with a new striker cos when we have two games in 3 or so days, he like to rest berba so we need another world class to score the goals while he is out.. I know Defoe is a goal machine at the moment but who sets them ALL up.. Berba!!! Any way i think we should go for Robben!!! him down the left and Lennon on the right.... Awesome!

added.. To Invantion at the bottom.... you are wrong.. tottenham are actually a very rich club so we dont need to sell our good players to buy new ones!

Unfortunately it is symptomatic of the 'continental' way of doing things- i.e. squad rotation!

I do agree with you though, Spurs need some bite in defence...Gardner I don't rate....Davenport I do rate BUT...I think he is lacking in confidence as in reality he is some way down the pecking order!

A couple of defenders in the class of Perryman and Mabbutt (obviously up to speed with todays game) wouldn't hurt.

The other thing I noticed is that all the defenders appear to be told to attack.....which is OK if you are 3 - 0 up but does leave Robinson vulnerable and they always seem to be really tired toward the last quarter of the game.

Give them time though- Jol is doing a good job - it will come!

is it actually Spurs or the rumour mill. Whenever a transfer window opens up you can expect every team to be linked with strikers. I think Berbatov and Defoe are good and your back up strikers aren't poor either, although I actually think Berbatov can be inconsistant at times. Have to say he made a huge difference when he came on against us (liverpool), and really had us under pressure, but I have seen him at games where he's much less impressive.

You did look very substandard at the back without your usual partnershipm, so I do think you have agreat point about needing defensive cover.

If you ask Jol what striker he'd like to sell he would definately tell you no one but the fact is that Spurs is not like Chelsea, Man U etc where there is enough cash available to buy new player. What they do is sell the one of their best to invest and buy 2 or 3 with that money.

The reason why they keep talking about bringing another striker is that they are aware that big clubs are interested in buying both Keane and Defoe that's why they are getting ready to know who to replace in case he leaves (Not because they're short of striker as I believe they have a better striker options in terms of number comparing to all the EPL clubs).

Thanx!

Because with 2 strikers injured we only have 2 to put out. If a team has scouted correctly they will know how the two fit strikers play and can defend accordingly.
But Darren Bent.....give me a break.

Well, buy a striker?...

Sounds like Defoe or Keane is leaving this window so you may need one...;
