YES
ASEXUAL means three things. In one definition, they can, #3.

1. Having no evident sex or sex organs; sexless.
2. Relating to, produced by, or involving reproduction that occurs without the union of male and female gametes, as in binary fission or budding.
3. Lacking interest in or desire for sex.

ograndetyler hit the bullseye and deserves the points.....

But since I'm here, I will add my 2 cents worth. I have a physical illness that causes weight gain and lots of pain all over my body. I was not born with the illness; it began in my late teens or early 20's.

I no longer desire to have sex.... And so, I do consider myself "asexual". One could also call it celibacy..... But that kind of implies the decsion was made by choice. I don't feel like I just up and made that choice one day. I believe my health condition has kind of forced it on me. SO! I say YES, they can decide to be asexual....whether they like it or not.

No....you can't decide to be asexual....it is a medical abnormality. I'm not sure that any human being is asexual......It means being born without any significant proof of being one sex or the other. Which is not to be confused with trans gender(wanting to change genders). There are absolutely no sexual organs, male or female.)

It sometimes takes more strenght to not have sex without emotion than to have it.
I think people have chosen to not have sex for many reasons.
I also believe that if different from people who have no interest in sex or sexual activities. I think that is a natural trait.
