Well, if you multiply 1 gram by 9 and divide by 24, you will get the content of pure gold in it. That works out to be 0.375 gram, or 375 milligram.
Then you simply multiply by the current price of gold per gram. It always changes so you'll have to check.
Of course, if you are talking about a particular jewelry item, it'll be slightly higher, because it depends not just on the metal, but on the work. The more elaborate the work, the more the item will cost, even though with the same weight.

Your much better going to a pawn brokers as the ones you send it to through the post will always give you the least amount. Try ringing all your local pawnbrokers they should give you a price per gram over the phone.
